Global Value Investment Corp was founded in 2007 by Jeffrey R. Geygan. The firm was originally established as Milwaukee Private Wealth Management, Inc. to serve the investment concerns of Mr. Geygan’s individual and family clientele. Over the years the firm evolved to the point where a re-organization was needed to reflect the expanded research and advisory services provided to its growing base of clients. Consequently, in 2015 the firm was renamed Global Value Investment Corp.
The firm continues to build upon its history of value-oriented investing and focused portfolio management. In addition to individual and family clients, the firm also provides investment management sub-advisory services to other investment professionals and their firms through the Milwaukee Institutional Asset Management business division.
The firm’s organizational structure includes four operating divisions:
- Milwaukee Private Wealth Management continues to serve individuals, families, and charitable organizations
- Milwaukee Institutional Asset Management serves other investment professionals and their firms.
- Global Value Partners is a highly concentrated investment strategy that invests in companies in which a position is established to influence company management in an effort to affect change and enhance long-term shareholder value. This strategy is appropriate for accredited investors.
- Global Value Research Company provides institutional quality investment research to investment professionals
Although the name and business organization have changed to reflect the expanded operations of the firm, our legacy investment philosophy and process remain intact.
Global Value Investment Corp continues to offer investment research and advisory services utilizing value-oriented analysis and principles. The firm’s dedicated associates continue to provide strategic financial, estate, and tax planning to clients, often working closely with our clients legal and tax counsel to develop optimal long-term solutions.
Institutional clients of the firm work in partnership to offer separately managed account services (SMA) to their own clients. The firm acts as a sub-advisor, providing investment research & portfolio management discretion over client portfolios, allowing its professional partners to concentrate on the critical client servicing and financial planning needs.
The experiences of Wall St. have shaped the value-oriented principles that embody the firm’s investment process. Thoughtful and thorough financial statement analysis continues to drive the firm’s long-term success. When appropriate, the firm will communicate directly with a company’s senior management and board of directors in order to exert influence on the companies in which it invests. Moreover, the firm takes seriously the notion of defending shareholder rights and providing a representative voice for all shareholders that uniquely combines the firm’s fundamental analytical skills and its ability to offer solutions that will positively impact a company’s long-term economic performance. As a result of our rigorous analysis and thorough understanding of each of the businesses in which we invest, our Associates own the very same issues we add to client portfolios.
Mr. Geygan worked twenty years combined for two large Wall Street brokerage firms prior to establishing the firm. He recognized that his vision of creating a world-class value-oriented investment research and advisory firm would be best realized independently. This realization led to the creation of Milwaukee Private Wealth Management, Inc. in 2007. In 2015 he reorganized the firm in order to reflect its evolution and developing institutional clientele. The firm has successfully achieved its goals despite the turbulent market environment that existed during its early years. This success allowed Mr. Geygan to attract extremely bright and energetic associates to work alongside him in firm’s office in Mequon, WI, as well as other associates working remotely, some as far away as central India. The firm’s ethnic and geographic diversity is reflected in its investment holdings.
The firm’s clients come from all walks of life and all corners of the world. Most new clients are introduced by word of mouth and personal introductions. Many of our family clients have three generations investing with us, and in some cases we are meeting with the fourth generation, a true testament to our intergenerational wealth management culture.
Our culture includes ‘treating each client as we would like to be treated if our roles were reversed,’ never losing sight of the fact that we have been entrusted to manage money that often has been earned over a lifetime of hard work and dedication.
